One of the most exciting artists to come out of Norway at the moment is the experimental singer-songwriter Sturle Dagsland. His latest tune, ‘Waif’, is a tour through a variety of avant-garde textures. His musicality is clear, as he manages to collide allow a peaceful acoustic guitar to collide with aggressive vocals, culminating in a climax that wanders towards extreme metal in its intensity. He cites everyone from Death Grips to Sunn O))) as inspiration on his upcoming self-titled debut album (due for release on February 5^th, 2021, which will be full of genre-defying experimental music. -Dan Peeke
